Super Grace is 2! {Alaina Nunez - Photographer}

  • I would like to tell you a story about a little girl who's name is Grace. Here's a bit of a back story for you. Her mama Stacey (my friend) found out that she had to have another open heart surgery before she could get pregnant. Stacey hadn't had a surgery since she was 8 years old. Stacey had her surgery and a year later was given the ok from her doctor to get pregnant. Not long after she announced that she was pregnant! Yay! Her doctors kept a close eye on her and the baby telling her that her baby had a 50% chance of also having a heart defect, resulting in surgery right away. During Stacey's ultrasound she and her husband David found out that yes, their daughter (yay for a girl) did in fact have a heart defect called tetrology of flow.

    Grace was born early, she was only 33 1/2 weeks gestation to be exact. Stacey remembers that they put Grace in the incubator and took her to the NICU right away and that she didn't even get to see Grace for at least a day. After having 4 babies I can't imagine leaving the hospital without one. :( But Stacey was released and went back numerous times a day for over a month while Grace was there.

    To date, Grace has had 3 operations and about 5 procedures. As far as knowing how many operations Grace will need all depends on how her heart holds up.

    Now, Grace is a fun little 2 year old! She loves to read books with her favorite being, "If you Give a Cat a Cupcake". She also loves Dora, Baby Einstein and Bubble Guppies and all kinds of music. Being outside at the park and swinging is her favorite way to spend her day. Her favorite foods include Mexican, pizza, fruit and goldfish crackers (My kind of girl!).

    Currently, Stacey and her husband David are dealing with a breathing issue that Grace seems to be having called strider and the hope is that she will outgrow it.

    I asked Stacey how being a mom to her Grace has changed her. She told me, "Well lets see, it has made me a much stronger person and I'm not as shy and quiet as i used to be because I've had to deal with doctors and I have to make sure they are doing whats best for her. I put her first before myself. She has changed me for the better but I'm still learning how to be a good mom." As Stacey's friend I am so proud of her and the mom she has become. She really is a good mama.

    Now I would like to introduce you to the Marshall family with their "Super" Grace.

Lissandra is 1! {Alaina Nunez - Child Photographer}

Do you remember this precious little one that I was able to capture within her first 2 weeks? Miss Lissandra slept her whole newborn session and was just the sweetest little thing.

Well, Little Miss just turned 1 year old, so it was time for her 1 year session (I love having Baby Plan babes!). Her mama and I corresponded back and forth to figure out what would be the best place for the pictures that she had in mind. I think we found a perfect fit!

Meet 1 year old Lissandra!

Her adoring big brother and sister!

The Alamilla family is truly a joy to be around. :)

This was the first time she sat still for the session. She liked the chair!

Oh, sweet beautiful girl...

Her mama bought some treats while we were there.

What a good idea her mama had with bringing along some horns! Cute!

Haha I think she enjoyed her cupcake. ;)

All done!

Thank you Alamilla family! It's always a pleasure being with you guys. :)
