Our Christmas Pictures - La Habra Family Photographer

I told my husband the other day that I decided we'll just send out New Years cards and he asked if I had a picture that I thought would be good to use for a card. Well sure, I have pictures but not a family picture.
So we headed out to a local park on his one day off that he had this week (yesterday) and took some updated pictures.

 I won't post the pictures that I used for our card, don't want to spoil it!
 While I was taking individual images of the kids I had asked them to tell me a joke. This is their thinking face... except Blake, this is his cheese face. I love his composer hair!
 Charlotte was all into sticks and leaves.

 My in-laws met us with their dog that the kids totally love.

 When you take a guy picture you have to take a serious one. haha
When we got home I put Charlotte by the tree. She is definitely a gift! :)

I hope you all have a MERRY CHRISTmas!

Many Blessings,
Alaina

DITL: Alaina Nunez-Orange County Documentary Photographer

Day In The Life (DITL for short) sessions are photographed in a documentary way. My regular sessions are Lifestyle which are a mix of portraits and candid moments. The difference is, those candid moments, I usually advise you where to stand or which direction to look.

(Lifestyle Session)

With DITL sessions, I do not give you any direction. There's no "stop when you get here" or "look that way". I'm the family member you invite in to tell the story that would otherwise be untold memories.

These are such sweet sessions for me as I know as a mom of 5, I do not always get in the pictures with my children and I am unable to photograph our life because I am living life by being a part of our family life.

So when I am asked to document life moments such as marriage, birth and family life, I feel honored to be trusted with the privilege of being invited into the moments that need not be forgotten.

Have you ever thought of having a DITL session for your family? When family from out of town is gathered together is one of the best times to have one!

I was able to photograph one family that had gathered together for their yearly tamale making day. You can check out that session at, A Family Tradition I was told that I had caught pictures such as their Grandma laughing that no one had ever caught before. How precious is that!? I love that I was able to give them that gift!

You also don't have to wait for a special gathering. Everyday is a gift and should be celebrated and documented. I would love to do that for you!

Contact me so we can set a date! Your family's story is ready to be told.

Blessings,
Alaina

Santa Claus {Alaina Nunez- Orange County Photographer}

The Santa Sessions were a hit! I loved seeing all the kids with their star struck expressions.

Some of the mom's didn't tell their kids they would be visiting with Santa that day, other's, their kids came with letters or lists for Santa.

Here is a preview of the day.

 Santa loves to read.

 haha Santa, you're so funny. ;)

Little one wasn't having it, big brother to the rescue, Santa trying to get everyone happy "yay!!!" and the little man on the left... perfectly posed. Yep, this is a keeper! haha

Little one decided that Santa wasn't so bad, after all, he does bring goodies!

Santa loves to sing.

Sadly, we did not raise enough for a fresh water well but we will be able to help provide clean water with the money we were able to raise.

I want to thank you (those who booked a session) for supporting our efforts in providing clean water!

Blessings,
Alaina

Santa Claus is Coming to Town {Alaina Nunez - Orange County Photographer}

You heard right, no long lines for Santa pictures!

The lovely ladies at the OC Doula Collective, have opened their doors to co-host this years Santa Mini Sessions.

Each session is 10 minutes so book one per family.

We want to make sure each child gets equal time with Santa.

Book as many 10 minute sessions you need!

Does your little one have a long list for Santa? Then I suggest booking a 10 minute session just for them and another 10 minute session for their sibling.

Each session includes 1 complimentary 5x7. Additional products available to purchase day of the session so you can get all your photo gift giving checked off your shopping list!

Our fundraising goal is $3,000 to be able to have World Vision provide a fresh water well and install it in a community that has a great need. Can you imagine having to give your child water to drink that the animals bathe in?! I can't! I know we can make clean water a reality!

So how do you reserve your session? Click Here and don't wait as there are only a limited number of sessions available!

I can't think of a better way to wrap up Thanksgiving weekend and start the Christmas season!

Book your session with Santa HERE

Please share and tell all your friends!

Blessings,
Alaina

Save the Date for Santa! {Alaina Nunez - Orange County Photographer}

Happy November!
On Monday my family went on a field trip to the San Diego Zoo and I have to say that I think November is a perfect time to go! It wasn't crowded, the weather was perfect and I wasn't 8 months pregnant! The last time we had gone was 6 years ago and my memories of the hills were a bit more extreme than the hills I walked yesterday. haha

Today I have some exciting news to share! I will be offering Santa Mini sessions this year! I can't reveal all the details yet but make sure to save the date of Saturday, November 28th.
I will tell you, our Santa Mini's are a fundraiser to be able to place a fresh water well in a community where there is no clean water for children and families to drink from. Can you imagine having to give your child water to drink that the animals bathe in?! I can't! That is why I would like to make clean water a reality for those mothers, children and community and with your help I know it will happen.
I will be able to share more details next week but make sure to get on my e-mail list as those who are signed up will be the first to know.
Don't miss out by signing up HERE.
Blessings,
Alaina

The Future of Simply Sweet Moments Photography

I'm excited to announce, starting next year I will be changing my photography name to Alaina Nunez Photography! I still love Simply Sweet Moments because I feel it embodies how I feel about the moments that I capture of my clients, friends and family during our sessions together.

So the reason behind the name change? Well, there are a few but I think the number one reason is, when people see my photography name on an image, I want them to know who the photographer is behind the name. When I see an image and think "Wow what a great shot!" and see the name is "Some Lovely Name - Photography" I'm always left thinking, "I wonder who the photographer is?" Not that anything is wrong with using another name besides your name, it's perfectly fine actually. I just I love getting to know my clients so I can provide them with a personalized experience as much as possible. I think it helps me create beautiful memories that are about them and not just pretty pictures that have nothing to do with who they are. I like the creating pictures that truly capture the person. I also don't want to be some stranger behind the camera. I want everyone who trusts me with documenting their memories to be comfortable and confident that they will be taken care of.

I use to have 3 blogs! Yes 3! One for my family (I still have it but don't post on it all that much), one for my Simply Sweet Moments families and one for couples and weddings. I want to have everything in one spot! I want to be a good steward of my time and provide the best service I possibly can to all my photography families.

I will also be offering more Family Photo Walks and Camera Basics workshops and classes, as well as Motherhood Memories sessions; which will be better suited under Alaina Nunez Photography.

So that is what I'm looking forward to in 2016 and I wanted to share the news with you! What do you think?

Happy Adoption Day! {Day in the Life - documentary photographer, Alaina Nunez}

I realized that I never finished this blog post about the day my nephew became "officially" adopted! My excuse... I had a 1 month old... I know, I know, it's not a good one. ;)

He is seriously the sweetest little guy and we all love him so much!

He joined their (our) family when he was only a few days old and then he was 16 months old when Manriquez became his last name.

I mean, look at that sweet face!
All the monkeys, I mean boys, in the tree.
Hanging out with cousins, papa and sister

He loves our baby Charlotte

We're so thankful for you little man!

Love,
Auntie
